Jamia Usmania Madina tul Islam ? A Legacy of Faith, Nurturing Souls, Building Character Service, and Empowerment

The foundations of Jamia Usmania Madina tul Islam were laid not only in brick and stone, but in the deep-rooted values of service, spirituality, and community uplift. While leading the reconstruction of Usmania Masjid, Muhammad Saif Ullah Khan (Khan Shb) found himself at the centre of a growing range of social responsibilities?from arranging marriages for needy families, mentoring youth toward social service, resolving family and neighbourhood disputes, and providing educational and medical aid to rehabilitating drug-affected youth and ensuring public security.
These multifaceted engagements soon began to outgrow the boundaries of the mosque. As these services started interfering with regular prayers and religious programs, Khan Shb realized the community urgently needed a dedicated space?a center that could host both social service and Islamic education in harmony.

In 1999?2000, this vision materialized into the construction of a modern community center that also housed a residential Islamic seminary (Jamia) for girls.

This multi-purpose complex featured:

  • Two well-equipped halls on the ground and first floors for community services
  • Second and third floors reserved for Jamia Usmania lil Banat with full boarding facilities

By 2010, the center was fully operational, offering both community outreach and religious education. Initially a residential setup, the Jamia soon transformed into a day-education model in response to the growing demand and limited space. With time, its academic reputation strengthened as students consistently excelled in local and national-level Islamic examinations.

To accommodate further growth, Usmania Welfare Society acquired new land in 2015?16 in Akhtar Shah Colony (Link Shadiwal?Railway Road, near Railway Phatak). This land was developed into a purpose-built, state-of-the-art campus, and by 2021, all Jamia activities were transitioned to the new facility, now known as Jamia Usmania Madina tul Islam, Gujrat.
Today, the Jamia proudly serves over 400 students, including 224 female students, across a comprehensive curriculum that spans from Darja Awwal to Darja Aalmia. Students also engage in Tafsir-ul-Qur?an, Hifz-ul-Qur?an, and classical Islamic sciences.

What sets this Jamia apart is not only the strength of its curriculum, but its nurturing environment?free from punishment, rich in care, discipline, and spiritual devotion. It reflects a unique blend of traditional scholarship with modern educational infrastructure, committed to developing a generation of students who are grounded in knowledge, character, and compassion.
